Antarctic Adventure at the Imax

Farouk Campbell

The name of Ernest Shackleton is carved into the analls of great explorers and adventurers and is further immortalised in a new Imax film - Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure - that details the classic and perilous struggle of man against nature.

Nature's displays of beauty and violence enfold this epic tale. The scenic splendours of the inhospitable Antarctic are revealed in serenely haunting landscapes. The harsh pitiless and frigid conditions faced by Shackleton and his men are captured using re-enactments, still photographs and cine-film
of the actual expedition, narrated by Kevin Spacey.

Tragic, breathtaking and enchanting, this bold adventure is a remarkable tale enveloping the viewer into staggering feats of bravery and endurance. The
large vistas and adverse weather conditions, impressively conveyed in this dramatic and absorbing documentary, could only be done justice in an Imax
format film.
