A cyclist was killed in a collision with a bus on the northbound carriageway of Blackfriars Bridge on Monday just after 5.30pm.
A spokesman for the City of London Police told the London SE1 website on Tuesday: "Police can confirm that a pedal cyclist was involved in a serious road traffic collision with a motor vehicle yesterday afternoon, Monday 10th May, on Blackfriars Bridge
. The bridge was closed in both directions for several hours, with local diversions put in place, but has since been re-opened to traffic."
The cyclist has since been named as 37-year-old Vicki McCreery of Aldersgate Street. She was born in Australia.
An inquest into her death was opened by the Coroner and adjourned on Wednesday afternoon.
