Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

Excellent takeaway - excellent food, not at all greasy, not too expensive, polite, fast - nice restaurant too. I will now become a "regular".

"If in doubt - ask Winston out!"

A Hidden Gem

Friendly staff, excellent food and good prices (especially for wine) - try the steamed seabass with ginger and spring onion or the slightly spicy house special chicken. Easily beats most of the tourist traps in Chinatown. Part of the charm is the long since converted bank type decor, the fish tank and the elevator music and with those big windows and a lot of TLC they have some of the healthiest looking plants ever seen in a restaurant. This very local place was there many years before the wave of eateries now hitting the area and it will be there long after many of them too.

Such a shame!

One of the few Chinese restaurants around Tooley Street and it feels like it hasn't been touched in years! Gloopy sauces and excessive cost for pretty substandard food. It also feels very unloved inside. Until they try and tart it up and show some enthusiasm avoid!

Very dissapointing...

I booked a table here NYE for me and my fiance. We walked up to the glass doors, the waitress was standing there watching us and she didn't even open the door for us, not a good start. As soon as we were seated we had napkins laid across our laps, we hadn't even picked up the menu! My starter of deep fried mushrooms was delicious but my partners choice of deep fried chicken was pink and bloody at the bone. We was given a wrong main course, it was quickly changed and was very nice (spicy prawns) but the grilled chicken in garlic sauce was sloppy and bland. Was really let down, was expecting much better considering it's location. It was relativley empty for NYE too, wont be hurrying back...
