Footfall Art presents art works viewable through the windows of ground-floor office buildings.
Emily translates architectural demolitions and dilapidated buildings into her own exploration of paint form and colour. Through abstracting collections of photographs Emily processes the visually unresolved and replaces the initial confrontation of the painting with a resolved and familiar information collage. She captures a zeitgeist of urban deterioration and desolation of building sites and disintegrated buildings through her concentrated details and strikingly simple gestures. Her subject qualifies her to explore her own style and freedom with the image.
Emily studied at Chelsea School of Art and graduated in 2009. She has been working at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and continues to paint in her studio in Hackney Wick.
