Southwark's First World War at Southwark Needle

Producer John Whelan, with local theatre groups People's Company and Imagine That will be bringing to life stories, objects, and archival materials from Southwark in the First World War.

Using actors and performers with an animated walk along Borough High Street, the poignant events of the war will be revealed though the eyes of local people of the time.

The stories and histories are based on the collections of the Cuming Museum and Southwark's archives.

In addition, it will animate the Tate Archive war artists' digital collection, as part of the Tate Archives and Access Project.

The event will end inside the John Harvard Library, with refreshments and a chance to see a display of material from the Cuming and Tate.
