Eyewitness Falklands at HMS Belfast

Photographic exhibition commemorating the 1982 Falklands War. The exhibition sets out to capture the war through the eyes of those that were there. It will put into context the importance of the Falklands War and look at the background to the conflict.

The dramatic photographs which form the centrepiece of the exhibition have all been chosen by 12 key participants of the conflict, from senior commanders to the troops on the ground who famously 'yomped' across miles of inhospitable terrain to liberate Port Stanley. Each has been asked to choose their own personal defining image of the conflict and explain what it means to them.

Eyewitness Falklands helps the visitor understand the origins of the Falklands conflict and how the location and geography of the islands influenced the way the war was fought.
