The Investigation at Young Vic

Just ten years after their own holocaust, a company of Rwandan actors perform a play about Auschwitz.

Weiss' documentary play, based on verbatim reports and debates from the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials of 1963-65, is widely considered one of the most influential plays on the Nazi holocaust.

Performed in French with English surtitles, these are the only UK dates in a European tour.

Dorcy Rugamba is an actor, playwright and director. Awarded first prize in Dramatic Art at the Conservatoire Royal du Musique in Liege, he founded the Urwintore workshop in 2001. In 1999, he co-authored Rwanda 94, an epic six-hour piece on the 1994 genocide. His latest work Bloody Niggers! premiered at the Festival de Liege this February and is currently touring France.

The cast is Leon Athanase Mandali, Lyliane Matabishi, Kenny Nkundwa, Thomas Nyarwaya, Olivier Rangira, Dorcy Rugamba and Aimable Twahirwa.

The Investigation is directed by Dorcy Rugamba and Isabelle Gyselin.
