For 10 weeks from Monday 4 May, Roxy will be screening one of this year's Oscar winners and nominees every Monday evening plus a couple of Sundays.
Getting things off to a good start is one of the most original and individual films of the year, or of any year for that matter. This is basically a documentary about writer / director Ari Folman's lost memories of the 1982 Lebanon War, but told through animation. So, semi-autobiographical, about real events, but kind of fictional.
The result is an extraordinarily engaging and involving movie approaching some serious topics in a subtle and highly original manner and through some beautiful animation and direction.
A really stunning, personal film about memory and war. If you missed this at the cinemas, cancel important things.
Plus 2 for 1 offer on a glass of Perrier Jout Champagne.
