Public invited to join Globe’s birthplace-to-Bankside sponsored walk

The Friends' goal, following their 21st Birthday last year, is to raise £21,000 to support the performance and education work of the Bankside replica of Shakespeare's playhouse.

The walk follows Shakespeare's Way, a long-distance walk launched last year to link the Bard's birthplace with his Bankside theatre.

Members of the public are welcome to sponsor a walker or even join up as a Friend (£35) and take part themselves, joining other Friends at any point during the walk. The walk began on Saturday 17 March at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford-upon-Avon and will end on Bankside two weeks later.
