Cyclist killed in Tanner Street collision named as David Poblet

The cyclist killed in a collision with a skip lorry in Tanner Street has been named as David Poblet, aged 20, from Barcelona.

Mr Poblet was a student living in London.

On Tuesday lunchtime emergency services were called to reports of a skip lorry in collision with a cyclist in Tanner Street at the junction with Jamaica Road and Tooley Street.

Mr Poblet was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination revealed cause of death to be multiple injuries.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene.

The death is investigated by the road death investigation unit at Traffic Garage.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the lorry shortly before the collision, should call police on 020 8285 1574 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He was bailed to a date in June.
