Pupils and parents from local schools gathered on the steps of St George the Martyr on Friday to show their support for the campaign

Campaigners from SE1 Safe Roads, Boroughbabies and Southwark Living Streets held a 'day of action' on Friday to draw attention to their request for better crossings at two key junctions on Borough High Street.

The petition asks TfL and the council to introduce pedestrian lights at the crossing between Brandon House and St George the Martyr church, as well as at the junction of Borough High Street, Trinity Street and Great Suffolk Street.

On Friday more than 900 people signed the paper petition in addition to the 200+ signatures gathered online.
