Don't eat here!
Ruse has undergone various transformations over the years, including a brief spell as a tapas bar, but it is essentially a shonky old boozer with a bit of fancy wall paper. It's latest ruse (chortle) is to offer pizzas. A slightly strange idea given the excellent and reasonably priced pizzas available 20 yards down the road at the infinitely preferable Libertine. After ordering our mediterranean pizza we waited half an hour before i asked where it might be. I was told that pizzas take 20 minutes and there was a queue (there were only about 4 other diners there). When it finally arrived it resembled a poppadum with cheese and artichoke hearts bathed in grease and large dollups of luke warm and slightly odd tasting pesto. But the grease was the thing. It seemed as if the artichokes had bled oil and then someone had poured additional oil over the whole thing for good measure. In short i feel quite sick now.
