A slick of diesel spread across the River Thames on Saturday night after a small boat moored at Festival Pier sank.

Officials from the Port of London Authority rushed to the scene to deal with the incident on the eve of the biggest event on the river in modern history.

Festival Pier is located on the South Bank between Waterloo Bridge and Hungerford Bridge.
