The owners of the former Fort pub in Grange Road have given notice that they intend to demolish the building to prevent it being occupied by squatters.
Squatters were evicted from the building last month.
A fire broke out in the building in July 2013.
Southwark Council refused planning permission for a new block of six flats on the site of the former pub which was most recently used as a gay club.
Planing officers ruled that the proposed scheme "would represent an oppressive form of development that would result in an increased sense of enclosure detrimental to the residential amenities of the adjoining occupiers".
