1940s-style signs were installed and road markings were covered over to allow scenes for 'A United Kingdom' to be filmed.

'A United Kingdom' is directed by Amma Asante and stars David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.

The film is based on the true-life romance between Seretse Khama – who later became the first president of Botswana – and his wife Ruth Williams Khama.
