Community Park Educator

Friends of Nursery Row Park

£22 per hour

Freelance April to July 2014

About this role

An exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic person to work with students at both Robert Browning Primary School and St Johns Walworth CE Primary School (East Walworth, Elephant & Castle, London SE17) leading weekly outdoor classes and after school groups in Nursery Row Park during the period April to July 2014. Your role will be to develop a suitable programme of creative and engaging lessons which capitalise on the educational potential of outdoor study in Nursery Row Park. Working closely with both school’s teachers, Southwark Council and the Friends of Nursery Row Park, your ideas will support existing classroom teaching in a range of curriculum areas.
You will then lead weekly outdoor classes and monthly after-school groups with students over the academic year. These will involve practical activities and use the considerable resources of the park.
