About this role

We are seeking a chef to prepare healthy, nourishing meals for our nursery children and others involved in our family and children programmes. As well as being responsible for the well-equipped kitchen and store, you will prepare and serve food in compliance with environmental health department guidance and food handling and hygiene regulations. In consultation with parents, children and staff, you will make sure that the food reflects the cultural diversity of the children and meets their dietary and religious needs. You will be responsible for planning menus, purchasing high quality ingredients, preparing, cooking and serving meals, washing up, and maintaining adequate food stocks. You must have an appropriate food hygiene certificate, and be willing to have an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure.

Coin Street Community Builders (CSCB) is a not-for-profit social enterprise and development trust responsible for developing and managing a significant part of London’s South Bank. The 13-acre estate includes designer-maker studios, exhibition spaces, cafes, bars and restaurants, parks, the riverside walkway, award winning housing and a regular programme of events and festivals. In September 2007 we will be moving into the new Coin Street neighbourhood centre which will bring together our family & children and learning & enterprise support facilities, provide new offices for our staff, a neighbourhood café, restaurant, and extensive conference and meeting facilities. Our programmes for family & children include childcare, early years education, out-of-school activities, parenting courses, workshops and free family drop-ins.
