About this role

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is looking for sessional workers to run our gardening groups on various days (including weekends). You will be working in local parks and open spaces in SE1 around Waterloo and Borough. After an induction period you would be the main leader for this group, under regular guidance from your manager. BOST will give further training if required for specific projects.

Person description

You will be an enthusiastic, outgoing, sympathetic and patient individual. Diversity training, experience working with people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, young people and from other backgrounds is desirable but not essential. Some First Aid training would also be desirable.

You should have knowledge and experience of gardening, basic construction, and the ability to collect monitoring information, and be confident in a leading role. It would be great if you had experience in leading volunteer groups. Further training in Health and Safety and group leadership will be provided.
