Bankside Skills Academy is the new name for Better Bankside’s Events Academy, which has directly involved over 100 students since 2008.
We are looking for a Bankside Skills Academy Project Manager to lead up to eight students, aged 16-21 years, as they participate in this work experience programme, supporting them in every aspect of their professional and personal development. This includes liaising with local businesses to develop a series of skills-based workshops for the students and ensuring that they deliver a successful event on time, to budget and on brief.
Now in its eleventh year, this award-winning initiative is aimed at helping young people to develop key skills for their future. It is a unique work experience scheme, giving 16-21 year olds who live and/or study in Southwark the opportunity to spend a summer doing real work in real workplaces, gaining new skills and learning about a variety of business sectors and careers.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience of working with young people aged 16-21, an understanding of the key skills required for employment, as well as some experience of project and/or event management and planning.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 19th June 2019. The successful candidate needs to be available for a handover day with the current role holder on Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th or Wednesday 26th June, and to start in the role from the week commencing Monday 1st July.
