Director

Southwark Arts Forum

£32-£35k (dependent upon experience) pro rata @ 3.5 days per week (0.7fte)

Offered initially as a 12-month fixed term contract

About this role

Following the recent announcement that the current Director Kate Mason is leaving the organisation after 3 years to set up her own cultural consultancy, SAF is seeking applicants interested in taking on this challenging and exciting role.

• Southwark Arts Forum has undergone a very successful rebuilding over the last three years. The new director needs the management ability to develop the core networking businesses and also to continue the change management of the group thus taking the group forward and building on a rapidly developing organisation. Essentially, we are seeking an energetic, visionary and committed individual to work with the SAF Board of Trustees and members to help take SAF to the next stage of development.

• The Director will take responsibility for management of a team of four plus various freelance and volunteer staff. The Director is expected to provide pro-active leadership, vision and advocacy for the organisation in financial, operational, creative, strategic and developmental areas.

• This post is funded through The Culture Service, London Borough of Southwark.

• SAF would be looking for the successful applicant to take up the role end of May/early June when the current Director leaves. There would be a handover process.
