Property/Estate Manager

The Walcot Foundation

£35k-£40k plus 10% pension contribution

Permanent/Full time

About this role

We are looking for a skilled and confident person to join us as Property/Estates Manager. The Foundation owns c80 local properties (houses, flats, a few commercials) all close to our offices and adjacent to the Imperial War Museum. This is a new role, for someone who is able to handle both the day-to-day and the bigger-picture strategic aspects of property portfolio management. We are a permanently endowed charity, dating from the 1620s, with a small and friendly staff team and supportive trustees.

Summary
The role requires knowledge of aspects of property management (lettings, reactive and planned maintenance, compliance with landlord responsibilities, annual forecasts and budget management). In addition, we’re looking for someone who is competent in IT skills, knows how to build good relationships, is a clear thinker and is both hands-on and strategic.

This role is not suited to remote working. During the current C-19 constraints up to two working-from-home days a week, spaced out, may be possible, subject to discussion. The post reports to the Director and works closely with the Finance Manager.

Person description

The role may be just right for those who have been working in the commercial property sector and now wish to apply their skills within a not-for-profit charitable setting where the focus is helping those affected by poverty and social disadvantage. The role directly supports our income generation.
