Andrew Logan launches Walk to School Week in SE1

SE1 schools will be holding fun-packed events, trips and classroom activities next week as part of national Walk to School Week.

Ofsted inspectors have highly praised a Bermondsey primary school, saying it has "many strengths and several outstanding features".

Anchor Bankside reopens

The Anchor pub on Bankside has reopened as the London flagship of the 126-strong Premier Lodge chain owned by Scottish & Newcastle. The 56 bedroom addition to the historic pub has cost £3.5 million and created 60 new jobs.

Morley College lift opened

A new lift, which should have been included in the main Morley College building 45 years ago, was opened last week by one of the oldest students.
