Latin American celebration at St George's

Members of London's Latin American community gathered at St George's Cathedral in Southwark on Saturday for a celebration Mass and open-air fiesta to mark the "Dia de las Americas".

Southwark launches community poem

To celebrate National Poetry Day Southwark Council this week launched its first ever community poem, with the first line coming from Poet Laureate Andrew Motion.

Bermondsey man jailed for Jamaica Road shooting

24-year-old Delroy Phillips, of Lockwood Square, SE1 was sentenced to six years imprisonment at the Old Bailey on Friday 4 October for attempting to rob City Wines off-licence in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey and shooting the shopkeeper in July 2002.
