Protests banned on the South Bank

Much of the South Bank will be off-limits to demonstrators as part of a 1 kilometre exclusion zone for protests close to the Houses of Parliament.

Cyclists brave the rain for Bankside's Bike Week breakfast

Cyclists from Southwark and beyond were undeterred by the pouring rain and converged on Shakespeare's Globe on Wednesday morning for the annual Bike Week breakfast gathering.

Jowell: "London Eye is here to stay"

Culture secretary Tessa Jowell has told the House of Commons that the London Eye's future in SE1 is secure, whilst negotiations continue between the wheel's operator and the South Bank Centre.
