A daffodil for every Southwark resident

Tabard Gardens and the Rockingham Estate are among the areas set to see an explosion of colour next spring as Southwark Council plants a daffodil bulb for each of its 250,000 residents.

The bulbs will be planted between now and the end of November at locations across Southwark

Cllr Richard Thomas, Southwark's executive member for environment and transport, said: "This initiative, which is part of our commitment to a cleaner and greener borough, will brighten Southwark up and mark the arrival of spring in a most spectacular way."
