Ten teams, coming mostly from local special schools, took part in a very exciting competition. The children, all with special needs, showed great enthusiasm.

Shell Centre staff were also invited to come along in a break from their work and be inspired by the talent of these young players.

Sharon Brokenshire, organiser of the South London Special League, said: “We are all delighted to have been made so welcome as guests of Shell International. We hope in turn, that these young footballers, with their enthusiasm for the sport, overcoming all of their special needs have brought some joy into the lives of those who were able to come and watch."

An exciting final took place between Brent Knoll School and Meadow school. This team had come all the way from Hillingdon to join in the competition.

The organisers sent a special well done to SE1's very own Beormund School who despite being by far the smallest competitors put on a real fight, showing great determination.
