Tropicana extended till June

London SE1 website team

Tropicana - the site-specific performance by SHUNT below London Bridge Station - has been extended to 25 June with five performances a week.

The event is performed in the unlikely surroundings of The London Bridge Vaults, a 70,000 square foot labyrinth of railway arches under London Bridge Station. Through unmarked doors and lift shafts, Tropicana takes its audience on an exceptional journey through the newly created SHUNT Vaults.

SHUNT is a performance collective exploring the live event.  Formed in January 1998 by ten diverse artists, Shunt is committed to site-specific performances in unusual spaces that involve the audience in different ways other than as passive observers.

Though it has gained mixed reviews in the national press, Tropicana has been a hit with users of the London SE1 Forum. DHW wrote: "I went in with no background about Shunt or what they do, and was treated to a stimulation of all my senses. It scared me, made me laugh, and most importantly think."
