Union of Shorts 2005: Pub at the Union Theatre

Abigail Banks

Union of Shorts 2005: Pub is a compilation of short plays devoted solely to the pub at The Union Theatre.

The Union Theatre is a small fringe theatre just a short walk from Southwark underground station. It is putting on a compilation of short plays devoted solely to the pub that is extremely diverse in style and quality. Though different they do share the common interest and environment of the pub.

Before the show enjoy a drink at the bar and feel free to bring it in with you. The Union Theatre is small and intimate so it feels like a gathering with friends. Also, since this theatre's goal is to put on and promote new writers be prepared for a night of mixed emotions. It is funny and enlightening but also very touching and moving.

Pub is not for a young audience but it is an event that ventures on racial, social, and emotional issues. The Union Theatre's production of Pub is a great venue for a night in the theatre.

• Until 2 July at the Union Theatre
