Hit and run in New Kent Road

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a hit and run collision in New Kent Road on Tuesday night.

At about 6.30pm on Tuesday 1 November at the junction of New Kent Rd and Balfour Street a vehicle was in collision a woman pedestrian.

The woman – who lives locally and is aged 74 – suffered a broken foot. She was taken by ambulance to St Thomas' Hospital where her condition is understood to be comfortable.

The vehicle – travelling towards the Elephant and Castle – did not stop at the scene.

It is believed it may have been a gun-metal grey Renault people-carrier. We have no description at present of the driver.
