London SE1 website team

The River Walk Challenge on Saturday 7 September is a sponsored walk to raise funds for homeless women in London organised by Central and Cecil Housing Trust which has a women only hostel in Waterloo.

The walk takes place along the river between St Paul's cathedral and Richmond Bridge. Covering a distance of 17 1/4 miles participants will pass many of London's interesting landmarks, pubs and parks.

You can start at either point and shorter (8 mile) walks are also available. The day promises great fun with an on route quiz and fancy dress competition for which prizes will be awarded.

There is also a top prize for the person who raises the most sponsorship money.
