The concourses of Waterloo and London Bridge stations became dance floors for an hour on Monday night as part of the TangoCommute event.

The organisers intended the hour-long participatory dance event – held as part of Big Dance – to take place simultaneously on seven bridges and seven railway stations.

Violent thunderstorms on Monday evening made the indoor option of rail termini including Waterloo Station and London Bridge Station much more attractive.

At Waterloo more than half a dozen couples danced silently to music on their MP3 players as bemused commuters rushed past.
