A 58-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach outside a minicab office in Old Kent Road.

Police were called to Old Kent Road at 4.30am on Saturday to reports of a stabbing outside a cab office near Dover Flats.

The ambulance service also came to the scene and a 58-year-old man with a stab wound to the stomach was taken to a south London hospital where his condition is understood to be stable.

A second man received minor facial injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

A Met Police spokeswoman said that two men were arrested shortly afterwards in connection with the inquiry and remain in custody at south London police stations.

The scene of the incident remained sealed off until about 10.45am on Saturday.
