Prince Charles at Globe

Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes and a host of stars appeared in a Prince's Trust benefit gala.

Prince Charles, accompanied by Camilla Parker Bowles, hosted the evening at Shakespeare's Globe.

Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes recreated the Romeo and Juliet balcony scene. Other actors performing Shakespeare scenes included Paul Scofield, Diana Rigg and Jane Lapotaire.

Meeting the Prince afterwards were 11 members of the first Prince's Trust drama group based in SE1 and known as the Oxo Tower Team. Last month the team staged a production at the Union Theatre.

• Earlier the Prince of Wales, as President, of the Royal Shakespeare Company, visited the Shakespeare in Art Exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery.

• After the three-hour performance crowds waited outside hoping to see the Prince and Camilla Parker Bowles who attended a late-night dinner in the exhibition space.
