Man killed in Old Kent Road car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was killed in a collision between two cars on the Old Kent Road.

The emergency services were called to Old Kent Road just before 5am on Sunday to a collision between a Saab 9000 and a Mercedes B180 near the Albany Road junction.

The 48-year-old driver of the SAAB 9000 was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two female passengers in the Mercedes were taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and later released on bail.
