Serious assault on Albert Embankment: police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old woman was "seriously assaulted" on Albert Embankment earlier this month.

The incident happened near the Union club on Albert Embankment at about 5.45am on Sunday 14 May.

The victim and her friend had just left a nearby club and were making their way home. They were approached by a man who offered them drugs. When they refused he became violent and assaulted her.

The victim is still receiving treatment for facial injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man aged 18-20. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black sleeveless puffa jacket and blue jeans.

Police are keen to trace anyone in the area who may have seen or heard something.
