The 63 bus was travelling north up Blackfriars Road when it collided with a tree near the junction with Boundary Row at about 5.20pm on Tuesday.

Traffic in the area was already disrupted because of a fatal collision at Elephant & Castle.

Fire crews from Dowgate, Euston and Lambeth were called to the scene along with the London Ambulance Service.

Passengers were treated at the scene for a number of minor injuries whilst one man was tended by ambulance and fire crews on the top deck of the bus.

Route 63 is operated by Go-Ahead London Central.
