Pedestrian killed in Lambeth High Street van collision

A 52-year-old man has died after being hit by a van in Lambeth High Street on Tuesday afternoon.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 4.36pm on Tuesday following reports of a collision between a male pedestrian and a van.

When they arrived, police officers found a 52-year-old man suffering from critical injuries. The man died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail until late March.
