Detectives are appealing for help in identifying a man who they wish to speak to in connection with an attempted rape.

On Monday 20 April a 28-year-old woman, her male friend and the man detectives wish to speak to were at an address in Newington Causeway.

At approximately 3am the man attempted to rape the woman but she was able to fight him off and her friend came to her assistance. The man then fled the scene.

The man is described as a white, aged about 30-40 years with a shaved head.

Anyone who can identify the man or has information that may assist the inquiry should call detectives from the sexual abuse, exploitation and child abuse command on 020 8721 4640 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
