A red Foder truck was spotted parked on the side of Southwark Bridge at just after 2pm today. Police were called in to search the vehicle, which apparently had been deserted by its driver.

Traffic was stopped for about 45 minutes while the officials searched the lorry. Police sealed off the way to the bridge, keeping motor vehicles and pedestrians from placing themselves in possible danger. The vehicle was under even tighter suspicion than normal due to the recent bombings in Spain.

Fortunately, the scene was declared safe at just before 3pm.
