Boutcher Church of England Primary School in Grange Road has been praised by inspectors who highlighted the "outstanding" spiritual ethos of the school.
Ofsted inspectors paid tribute to the leadership of the head teacher and hard work of teachers and staff adding: "The outstanding spiritual ethos pervades every aspect of school life ensuring that children are at the centre of everything."
Above average standards in English, mathematics and science and good standards in history and geography at the Bermondsey school were also highlighted.
Inspectors singled out the literacy groupings for Years 3 to 6 saying they were “innovative and helping to raise standards.”
Headteacher Jane Marwood said: "We're delighted with the results of this report – the high standards we've achieved are down to the combined efforts of staff, children and parents."
