Ivan Massow joins race to be Mayor of London

Ivan Massow chose London Bridge as the venue to announce his bid to be elected Mayor of London.

Standing on London Bridge with City Hall as the backdrop, the former Conservative confirmed rumours that he will be running as an independent candidate. He also revealed that he had been planning his campaign for two years and believed that the election could be won by a very strong independent candidate.

He claimed that £7.5bn each year is needed from central government to give Londoners the same spend per head to restore infrastructure as in the rest of the country.

During the campaign he intends stressing that this can only be achieved by an independent candidate putting pressure on the three main parties to give Londoners national equality.
