The Southwark and District Model Railway Club is looking for a new home.

The club needs to move because of a rent increase which the members cannot afford.

Currently based just off the Old Kent Road in Avondale Square, the club is now in its 33rd year and its members continue to teach modelling skills and produce scale layouts for show at exhibitions, including prototype models of Hawkhurst Station in Kent and the former Crystal Palace High Level Station which closed in 1954.

The club currently meets on one night a week and needs secure space to store it layouts, tools and materials as well as somewhere to work on them.

Ideally, they would like to be in a community environment and would hope to develop a junior section to whom they can pass on their skills.

The club would be pleased to receive any offers, ideas or suggestions for affordable premises; contact Ray on 020 7732 9675.
