Shortcuts 2006 at Union Theatre

The Union Theatre demonstrates its reputation for developing new writing with the ground-breaking festival, shortcuts 2006. Bringing together some of London's finest young playwrights and directors, shortcuts 2006 presents three diverse programmes of theatre, showcasing exclusive short plays by emerging writers Matt Hartley (Winner of the Bruntwood Playwriting Competition 2006), Sarah Sigal (recent graduate of MA in Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths) and Adrian Hornsby (Kilometer Zero Project, Paris).

Other plays presented during the shortcuts 2006 festival include works by Rachel Wagstaff (Night Sky, Old Vic) Simon Vinnecombe (Year 10, Finborough Theatre), John Grogan (Blind Spot, Fishamble, Dublin), Dawn King (Zoo, Arcola Theatre), Duncan MacMillan (Hearts in Mouths, Old Red Lion), short pieces by The Apathists (a collective of six innovative new playwrights), and new original plays from developing playwrights and practitioners.

The festival includes three programmes of short plays in repertoire over three weeks.
