The group is reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.
The book tells the story of a poor Southern tobacco farmer whose cancer cells – taken without her knowledge – became one of the most important tools in medicine.
The library buys 15 copies of each title chosen.
The titles range from contemporary bestsellers, to award-winners and the occasional classic.
New members always welcome.
Attending the group is free but there is a small charge for refreshments (wine and crisps) for those who want them.
Contact librarian Stephen Males on 020 7926 8751 for further details.
