Hotel Confessions

Hotel Confessions is an intimate site-responsive production at The Bermondsey Square Hotel. This double bill of short plays explores the chance meeting of strangers, forced to share time, space and secrets in the intimacy of a hotel room. Come and enter their private world and hear them confess...

The Night in the Hotel by Anouke Brook is written after the classic short story Die Nacht im Hotel, by award-winning German writer Siegfried Lenz; Freya and Mr. Mushroom is a brand new play by exciting young British playwright Nessah Aisha Muthy. Although highly individual and unique in approach, both plays are linked by their exploration of urban loneliness and the unexpected friendships that form between strangers in the most unlikely surroundings.

Tender, compelling and darkly funny - this strictly limited run will play twice each night and accommodate an exclusive audience of just 10 people per showing. The spectators are invited to share the characters' experience, by immersing themselves in a 'private' space within a 'public' building.

The Building Site is a new theatre company set up by Ashley Cook and Anouke Brook, dedicated to the production of brave new writing and fresh interpretations of classic works in playful and resonant site-responsive environments.
