Dogsbodies & Scumsters

The Dogsbodies are twisted tales about individuals who are often invisible in society. Meet the Real Mummy whose daughter was inexplicably ill and subsequently taken away, Margaret who feeds Mr Parson's cat despite the owner sitting far too still, and The Builder who gives the writer a traumatic experience to write about. Many of the stories have been performed for individuals or groups by actors working with InterAct. InterAct works to bring the performed word to people who have suffered a stroke to aid their recovery.

A charged and intense collection, this book brings together the brittle poignancy of McCormick's Dogsbodies stories with the absurd surrealism of Scumsters, shorter works inspired by the illustrations of Jonny Voss.
