Organised by the children's charity Bounce, Compressedfest will feature a varied line up of live bands, solo acts, comedians, DJs and stalls.
All of the acts will perform special compressed sets for free with proceeds going towards musical instruments and equipment for underprivileged kids in London (via partner charity Kids Company).
The musical offering combines alternative and unsigned bands, representing a wide variety of genres. Highlights include Manchester multi-instrumentalist (and former member of indie darlings Keith) Douga, Brighton's haunting singer songwriter Stewart Warwick, vocalist Kelli Leigh (fresh from touring the US with Adele) and Mais Um Gringo, the man behind last year's acclaimed Oi! A Nova Musica Brasileira! compilation.
In the comedy room a host of high-profile professionals will road test Edinburgh material. These include duos Max and Ivan, Dregs and Allnutt and Simpson and stand-ups Jim Campbell, Joe Rowntree and Chris Martin.
Other attractions include a line-up of DJs, exhibition ping-pong, on-the-spot hairdressing, a vintage and sample sale, tea stall, bicycle clinic and lots of festival food favourites.
