Celebrate sport in the capital this autumn with an exhibition of rarely seen posters from the London's Transport Museum collection.

Sporting London features London Transport posters from the 'golden age' of poster design, the inter-war period of the 1920s and 1930s. Some posters also date back to as early as 1913. The expanding transport services over this period meant that more people than ever could support their football team or visit a world famous sporting event - Wimbledon or the Boat Race perhaps.

Posters from the London's Transport Museum collection are not often displayed. Before the Museum closed for major refurbishment it was not possible to show posters in gallery displays because the glass roof meant they would have been damaged by high light levels.
