Celebrating Skin

A 3D Canvas for the 21st Century

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

Skin has been adorned for centuries: using tattoos, tribal scars, dyes and pigments.
A joint collaboration between artist Bethany Alderson and photographer Charl Marais, Celebrating Skin will not only showcase their interpretation of the skin and body as a 3D canvas, but will also employ new technology to bring the stunning imagery to life and take the visitor on an extended journey into the artists' creative process and inspiration.
The photographic part of the exhibition will consist of 15 unique portraits. Each model has been painted using a combination of acrylic paints, make up and water, to illustrate fluidity, vitality and movement.
Shot using high end digital cameras, each print is printed on Kodak metallic paper to bring each face and body to life.
