An exhibition of letterpress prints by renowned printmaker Alan Kitching.

A prominent figure in art and design circles, Alan Kitching has been working with type for over 50 years. From the commercial typesetting of his youth to the establishment of the Typography Workshop in 1989, Kitching has seamlessly transitioned from printer to printmaker. His illustrious career has seen him receive award winning success in graphic design and personal fulfilment and recognition with his artistic works.

This, Kitching's second solo exhibition at Advanced Graphics London, will feature 25 works including new editions such as Marathon and Mr Kitching's Travels Around London, it will also be the first time the complete suite of Broadsides (1988 – 2010) will be exhibited together.

A sense of place is central to the prints, through them he preserves moments in time. For those familiar with the various pockets of London recorded in the works such as The Borough, Chelsea and Kennington the works are typographic maps portraying the life of a place and offering a very personal journey alongside the artist.

Kitching's work combines technical prowess with great freedom of colour and textures, affording bold yet intimate artworks that appeal to many tastes.
